Secretariat of the Control Committees

The Control Committees have a permanent secretariat whose function is to support them in the fulfilment of their mandate and to ensure the continuity of parliamentary oversight. The secretariat is an administrative organ that is independent of the executive body. Its tasks include in particular:

1. helping the Committees in their controlling activities on a technical, organisational and administrative level,
2. analysing the administration’s problems with regard to how it functions and drawing up draft reports and recommendations for the Committees,
3. maintaining contact with other parliamentary committees as well as with the federal administration,
4. helping the Committees to keep the general public informed and to deal with requests from third parties.

The Parliamentary Control of the Administration (PCA) is administratively subordinated to the secretariat of the CC.
