In 2023, we will celebrate the 175th anniversary of modern Switzerland. Celebrate with us!
1848 is a milestone for Switzerland. It is the year in which a new constitution was adopted, ending the conflict between the liberal and conservative cantons. The Constitution of 1848 laid the foundation for Switzerland as we know it today.
Join us on an anniversary tour of the Parliament Building. You will get to visit the National Council and the Council of States, as well as the Domed Hall and the ‘salle des pas perdus’ (lobby). We will take you on a journey through the timeline of national politics to give you an idea of how modern Switzerland came into being in 1848, and how it has developed over the past 175 years. Where will the journey lead? Join the discussion. We look forward to your visit!
