President of the National Council Maja Riniker (FDP, AG) and President of the Council of States Andrea Caroni (FDP, AR) attended the fourth parliamentary summit of the International Crimea Platform on 23 and 24 November 2025 in Stockholm, Sweden.

The parliamentary summit, chaired in Stockholm by the speaker of the Riksdag (the Swedish Parliament), Andreas Norlén, and the speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, Ruslan Stefantchuk, as part of the Crimea Platform, aimed to highlight the consequences of Russia's annexation of Crimea and to strengthen cooperation between governments and parliaments in support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the more than 40 parliamentary delegations present via video message. At the conclusion of the event, the delegations adopted a joint declaration.

During the plenary session, Maja Riniker and Andrea Caroni strongly condemned Russia's aggression and reiterated that respect for international law, and Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity remains paramount. They emphasised the remarkable resilience of the Ukrainian people and reaffirmed Switzerland's ongoing commitment to just and lasting peace, along with practical support for reconstruction efforts and humanitarian assistance. They also reiterated that a stable and resilient Ukraine is essential for the future and security of Europe.

The International Crimea Platform was established in 2021 as a forum for coordination, bringing together representatives of states, governments, parliaments and experts. It aims to raise awareness in the international community about the occupation and annexation of the Crimean Peninsula, human rights violations in the region, as well as security issues and respect for the rules-based international order.

Its parliamentary dimension, developed within the framework of the parliamentary summits of the International Crimea Platform, emphasises the role of parliaments in defending international law, strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and seeking lasting and just peace in Ukraine.

Previous parliamentary summits were held in Zagreb, Croatia (2022), Prague, Czech Republic (2023), and Riga, Latvia (2024). The Swiss Parliament was represented at each of these summits by an official delegation.
