On the first day of their meeting in Bern, the members of parliament of the two neighbouring countries held talks on European, tax and finance policy issues. The two State Secretaries Yves Rossier and Michael Ambühl spoke about recent developments in these policy areas. Bilateral issues, especially those concerning our common border, were also on the agenda.
On the second day, the two groups of members of parliament visited the canton of Basel-Landschaft. After taking a tour of the Port of Switzerland, the members of parliament from Austria and Switzerland met with the President of the National Council, Maya Graf, and the Cantonal Councillors of Basel-Landschaft.
