The Office is the body that handles procedures, organisational and administrative matters of the Council. It establishes the session programme, elects the committees and delegations, allocates business and sets remits and timetables for debates.
The Office of the Council of States consists of:
- the president of the Council;
- the first and second vice presidents;
- the tellers and substitute tellers
- and a member from each of the parliamentary groups of the Federal Assembly with at least five members in the Council of States and not represented in any of the abovementioned functions.
