The Parliamentary Services make available to the public photographs and videos relating to the Swiss Parliament, including its bodies, members, activities and events.​​

1. Per​​mitted uses

The photographs and videos made available may be downloaded and used free of charge for information, documentation, teaching, scientific documentation, civic education or media coverage.

The following uses are permitted:

  • publication in print or online media;
  • broadcasting on radio, television or in audiovisual productions;
  • use in institutional or informational publications.

Any use for commercial, advertising, promotional or marketing purposes is prohibited without the prior written consent of the Parliamentary Services.

2. Copyright​​ and modifications

Copyright and other rights relating to the photographs and videos made available belong to the Parliamentary Services or to the rights holders expressly mentioned.

Downloading or making available the photographs and videos does not result in any transfer of copyright or other intellectual property rights to such content.

Technical adjustments required for publication, such as cropping, compression, resizing or minor corrections to colour or brightness, are permitted provided they do not alter the content, context or meaning of the image or video.

Any other modification is prohibited without the prior written consent of the Parliamentary Services. The following are prohibited:

  • photomontages or video montages;
  • the addition of graphic or textual elements likely to alter the meaning of the image;
  • the modification or removal of elements present in the image or video;
  • any misleading use or use taken out of context.

3. Liab​​​ility

Any person who publishes or distributes a photograph or video bears full responsibility for it.

The Parliamentary Services offer no guarantee that the content made available is accurate, complete or up-to-date and accept no liability for any loss or damage of a material or immaterial nature arising from its use or non-use.

The Parliamentary Services reserve the right to amend, supplement or remove the content made available at any time and without prior notice.

4. Source attrib​​ution

Whenever a photograph or video is used, the source must be clearly indicated as follows:

Where the photographer's name is not mentioned in the database or in the information accompanying the content, the following attribution is sufficient:

© ParlCH

This requirement also applies to online publications and social media.

5. Applicable law​ and place of jurisdiction

These Terms of Use are governed by Swiss law.

The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Bern.​
