On 1 and 2 July, the president of the National Council, Pierre-André Page (SVP, FR), will pay an official visit to Portugal, accompanied by a parliamentary delegation.

The president of the National Council will be received at the Parliament in Lisbon by his counterpart, the president of the Assembly of the Republic, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco. Meetings are also planned with Portuguese Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Paulo Rangel, and with the Secretary of State for the Portuguese Communities, Emídio Sousa.

Alongside his official engagements, Mr Page will visit the port of Sines, where he will meet with representatives of MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company – one of the world’s leading container shipping operators – and PSA Sines, the operator of the port’s container terminal. The programme also includes a visit to a farm situated within the Sado Estuary Nature Reserve, which covers over 5,000 hectares.

The delegation accompanying the president of the National Council comprises National Council members Corina Gredig (Green Liberals, ZH) and Nicolas Kolly (SVP, FR).
