On Thursday 28 October, National Council President Andreas Aebi (SVP, BE) and Council of States President Alex Kuprecht (SVP, SZ) were received in Vaduz by the president of the Landtag, Albert Frick. It was the first visit made by the two Council presidents to Liechtenstein since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Relations between Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein have traditionally been very close and friendly. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, the two countries worked closely together and coordinated their measures.

The presidents of the National Council and the Council of States used their visit to Vaduz to discuss experiences with their Liechtenstein counterparts regarding efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Other topics addressed during the talks included bilateral relations and current European and international challenges. The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to HSH Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein at Vaduz Castle. The programme was rounded off by a visit to the Liechtenstein National Museum and the Dr Risch Laboratory Medical Centre.
