Following the conclusion of negotiations on the Swiss–EU package on stabilisation and development of their relations, the working visit is intended to improve understanding of the institutional functioning of the EU and the legal framework in which the package is enshrined.
The committee will be meeting several members of the European Parliament to strengthen ties and the mutual understanding of the respective approval processes in this new stage of bilateral relations between Switzerland and the European Union and its member states.
The working visit will provide an opportunity to discuss issues of common interest in foreign policy and trade policy.
