On 16 September, the president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Cameroon, Théodoro Datouo, is expected to pay a reciprocal visit to Bern. The National Council president paid a visit to Cameroon in July in connection with the 51st annual session of the French-speaking Parliamentary Assembly (FPA). During that visit, he met with the president of the National Assembly and with members of the Switzerland–Cameroon parliamentary friendship group. The reciprocal visit is intended to further strengthen parliamentary ties between the two countries.
The following day, on 17 September, Mr Page, and Mr Engler, will welcome the president of the Liechtenstein Landtag, Manfred Kaufmann, and the vice president of the Landtag, Franziska Hoop. The visit is taking place as part of the regular exchange between the parliaments of the two neighbouring countries. Relations between Switzerland and Liechtenstein reflect their geographical proximity, political trust and longstanding cooperation.
On 23 September, the president of the French National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, will pay an official visit. The close and wide-ranging relations between Switzerland and France are underpinned by numerous bilateral agreements and intensive political, economic, cultural and personal exchanges. The meeting will focus on cooperation between the two countries and cross-border issues; the visit will also provide an opportunity to examine other topics of mutual interest in greater detail, including dual-track vocational education and training.
