ADVANCE NOTICE : Visit to Bern during the spring session of Parliament by the chairperson of the Georgian parliament and of the Belarusian opposition leader

The president of the National Council, Eric Nussbaumer (SP/BL), will welcome his Georgian counterpart, Shalva Papuashvili, to the Parliament building on 13 March. A courtesy visit between the president of the Council of States Eva Herzog (SP/BS) and the President of the Georgian Parliament is also planned. The two parliaments maintain close contacts; the last official visit took place in October 2022. Ahead of that visit, the president of the National Council will meet with the Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya on 27 February, who is visiting Switzerland.
