The Delegation for Relations with the French Parliament will visit Paris on 13 and 14 October at the invitation of the president of the Franco-Swiss friendship group, Marion Lenne. Chaired by National Council member Pierre-André Page, the Delegation has chosen energy as the theme of its visit. It will conduct a number of interviews with experts in this field, including French industry representatives and counterparts in the French National Assembly and Senate.

The working visit was originally scheduled to take place in November 2020, but had to be postponed to 2021 due to health measures in France. It follows the visit of the National Assembly's Franco-Swiss friendship group, which came to Switzerland in 2018 to discuss vocational education and training.

On 13 October, the delegation will meet with the senators of the Franco-Swiss friendship group, in particular its chairman, Senator Bernard Bonne. The rest of the day will be devoted to discussions with energy experts, in particular Alain Bécoulet, head of the engineering department at ITER, and Vincent Thiébaut, advisor of the fact-finding mission to dismantle the Fessenheim nuclear power plant.

The following day, the Delegation will meet with Bertrand Le Thiec, director of public affairs at EDF, and with two representatives from Air Liquide, namely Geneviève Salomon (public affairs) and Marc David (energy transition). The working visit will conclude with an exchange on current bilateral and cross-border issues with members of the National Assembly's Franco-Swiss friendship group.

The Swiss delegation will be composed of its president, National Council member Pierre-André Page (SVP/FR), its vice-president, Council of States member Charles Juillard (Centre/JU), and National Council members Michael Buffat (SVP/VD), Brigitte Crottaz (SP/VD), Simone de Montmollin (FDP/GE), Delphine Klopfenstein Broggini (The Greens/GE) and Benjamin Roduit (Centre/VS).
