Faisal El-Fayez, President of the Senate of Jordan, will pay an official visit to Switzerland from 28 February to 2 March. Mr El-Fayez and his delegation, comprising three senators and several high-ranking officials in the senate, will be officially welcomed by Ivo Bischofberger, President of the Council of States. During their visit to Switzerland, the Jordanian delegation will also meet with Jürg Stahl, President of the National Council, and other members of the Swiss parliament for talks on current issues and bilateral relations between the two countries. A courtesy visit to President Doris Leuthard and a meeting with the head of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC are also on the agenda.
Salifou Diallo, President of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso, will be welcomed by Mr Stahl on 15 March. During his working visit, which will focus on Swiss parliamentary procedures and joint projects between the two countries, Mr Diallo will also meet members of the foreign policy committees and the Swiss-African Parliamentarian Group, which is chaired by member of the National Council Isabelle Chevalley. Mr Diallo, who will be accompanied by three members of the Burkinabé parliament and several high-ranking officials, will also be received by Ms Leuthard. He will round off his visit to Switzerland with a visit to the Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and the Centre hospitalier universitaire vaudois (CHUV).
