The president of the National Council, Marina Carobbio Guscetti (SP, TI), and the president of the Council of States, Jean-René Fournier (CVP, VS), will meet the president of the Landtag, Albert Frick, in Vaduz on Thursday, 21 November. The aim of the visit is to further strengthen the excellent relations and the traditional close contacts between the Swiss Parliament and the Liechtenstein Landtag. Ms Carobbio Guscetti and Mr Fournier will also pay a courtesy visit to His Serene Highness (H.S.H.) Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein.

At the invitation of the president of the Liechtenstein Landtag, Albert Frick, the president of the National Council, Marina Carobbio Guscetti (SP, TI), and the president of the Council of States, Jean-René Fournier (CVP, VS), will travel to Vaduz to pay an official visit to the Landtag in the Principality of Liechtenstein. The two parliamentary presidents will meet Mr Albert Frick and the vice president of the Landtag, Gunilla Marxer-Kranz, to discuss bilateral issues and current international and European public policy challenges. The programme will also include a courtesy visit to H.S.H. Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein at Vaduz Castle. The visit will be rounded off with a visit to the company Oerlikon and to the Liechtenstein Museum of Fine Arts.

Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein are linked by ties of friendship based on excellent relations and traditional close contacts. Every day, around 10,000 people commute from Switzerland to work in the Principality, and nearly 1,800 cross-border commuters from Liechtenstein travel to Switzerland. The excellent neighbourly relations are marked by pragmatic cooperation, strong economic interdependence and a steady flow of visitors.

Ms Carobbio Guscetti and Mr Fournier will be accompanied to Vaduz by member of the National Council, Walter Müller (FDP, SG).
