Parliamentary Services will be opening its doors to visitors on 9 April 2022 and offering a special programme especially for younger guests.

Programme

Saturday, 9 April 2022, 9am to 5pm (admission until 4pm), free admission.

Identity card / Passport over 16 years of age.

High visitor numbers may lead to waiting times at security.

Magic in the chamber of the Council of States

A magician will amaze audiences with his tricks!

Shows start at 10am, 12pm, 1.30pm and 3.30pm

Yea, nay, abstain! – how laws are made

Our guides explain Parliament's work to young visitors in engaging, child-friendly language. Includes the opportunity to vote.

In the National Council chamber at 11am and 2.30pm

Squash bar at Café Vallotton

Children receive a free glass of squash at the bar in the former newspaper room.

Other attractions

A clown show, the chance to design a political button, balloons and more await you and your children at the Parliament Building.

Materia Helvetica exhibition

An exhibition on Switzerland's mineral raw materials is currently running at the Parliament Building. Entry to the Materia Helvetica exhibition is free at the Open Day.

Explore the Parliament Building

Visitors can walk around the salle des pas perdus, the Domed Hall and the both chambers independently. Our expert guides will be happy to tell you about the history and architecture of the building.
