Once again, this year, visitors can look forward to a varied programme in the Parliament Building on National Day. Visitors are free to tour the Hall of the Dome, the lobby and the two Council chambers as well as the parlour of the Federal Council in the west wing of the Federal Palace. The main point of the programme is the open discussion with Thomas Hefti (FDP/GL). He will answer visitors’ questions from 10 – 10.45am in the National Council Chamber. The discussion will be moderated and simultaneously interpreted. Mr Hefti will provide information about his year in office and his experience in the ‘Stöckli’ (nickname for the chamber of the Council of States) from 11.00am – 12pm in the chamber of the Council of States.
Visitors are also welcome to visit the Materia Helvetica exhibition that takes a look at Switzerland’s mineral resources. Tour guides will provide information on the architecture and history of the building. Concerts by Evelyn and Kristina Brunner and the alphorn duet Timorosso will round off the programme.
